PEG-MGF (PEGylated Mechano Growth Factor)

is a synthetic, long-acting version of Mechano Growth Factor (MGF), a protein naturally produced by the body in response to muscle damage and mechanical stress. It is primarily used to accelerate muscle repair, promote tissue growth, and improve recovery after intense exercise. 

How It Works (The "PEG" Difference)

Standard MGF has an extremely short half-life—usually less than 10 minutes—before it is broken down by enzymes. 

• PEGylation: By attaching a polyethylene glycol (PEG)molecule to the peptide, researchers extend its half-life from minutes to 48–72 hours.
• Satellite Cell Activation: PEG-MGF works by stimulating "satellite cells" (muscle stem cells) to proliferate and fuse with existing muscle fibers, which increases fiber size (hypertrophy) and repairs micro-tears.
• Reduced Injection Frequency: Because it stays active for days, it typically only requires 2–3 injections per week, whereas standard MGF would require multiple daily injections to be effective.

• FDA Status: PEG-MGF is not FDA-approved for human use. The FDA has expressed safety concerns regarding its potential for immunogenicity (triggering an immune response) and lacks data on its safety in humans.
• WADA Prohibited: It is strictly banned at all times by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) under the category of peptide hormones and growth factors.
